Creating Hot Water
Terra Geothermal has several ways to create hot water from several of our technologies. The most efficient way is to take all the heat in your house during the summer when you are cooling and put it into your domestic hot water tank or a storage tank instead of dumping it into the air or ground outside. Makes so much sense to use the heat you don't want in your bedroom and put it into a hot water storage tank. We can achieve this using a hot water generator on your ground source heat pump. We can also generate hot water with an air source heat pump or more directly with a solar hot water generator.
The hot water generator (HWG) takes the cold water coming into the house and transfers the heat being removed from your house or being supplied to your house and heats the incoming water to about 100 F. This preheated water then goes to either your powered electric hot water tank or an on demand hot water heater with 90% of the heating demand already met by your geothermal system.
